How To Join

Interested in joining? We would love to hear from you.

For enquiries about joining Heany Park Scouts, please email our Group Leader.

Can I try scouting for free?

Yes, anyone interested in scouting is most welcome to come along for a couple of weeks to see what you think. You will have a buddy to help guide you through your first few weeks.

What does it cost?

Annual fees are approx $330 (pro-rated for part year membership, and family membership discounts are available).

There is also a $35 joining fee which covers the initial costs such as the scout book, scarves and badges.

Is there a uniform?

A shirt is all that makes up the basic Scout uniform. These items can be purchased from https://scoutshop.com.au/.  All Heany Park members will be given a scarf and Heany Park hat when they are invested for free.

Heany Park Scouts also have an optional Hoodie for $35.  Order forms can be found here.

Can parents be involved?

YES! Our group is run by volunteer Leaders supported by a volunteer Group Committee. We encourage all parents to join in the fun and to assist the Group.  We run information sessions for all new parents to explain options available.  It’s a great way to be involved with your children and to make some life long friends.

Does my child need to purchase special outdoor equipment?

No. We have or have access to a large range of camping equipment such as tents, ropes, canoes, and cooking gear. Your child will require a sleeping bag and stretcher.

Do Scouts go camping?

Camping is an essential part of the Scouting program – and its lots of fun too.  Cub Scouts have sleepovers in the Scout Hall and Camps at Scout owned properties. Scouts, Venturers and Rovers experience camping in tents in the great Australian outdoors.
